Thanks to the number of players and training attendance Buda Juniors have entered the Winter Cup with 2 teams in the 2006 age group. It was an exciting first match day with both teams showing strong character and some great moments of football! Team „A” fell just short of third place after a penalty shootout drama, while Team „B” finished first, having won 4:0 in the final. Well done Mireia and boys, keep up the good work!:)

It was the second match day for the 2006 age group. With again two teams busy this afternoon all you saw was Buda Juniors players around! The "A" Team did not have as much success as last time but it was again a great opportunity for our new players to gather some experience. The other team went all the way to the final and top the rankings after two match days. All in all we saw some great tricks and goals, be it Mark's solo, Miguel's top corner finish, Oriol's header or Cole's magic in front of goal. Everybody did their bit and if the guys keep up the attitude they have in training there is still a lot more to come from them!

With the “B” team we won the opening two group games more comfortably than the score line may suggest actually hitting the post on four occasions in the first game alone but our failure to take our chances would hurt us later in the tournament. We controlled the semifinal from the opening minute and emerged winners at a canter with excellently taken goals from Moric and Cole securing our passage to the final. We conceded two goals inside the opening minute of the final due to a lack of concentration and focus and although we went on to create numerous chances our failure to convert them led to Esztergom running out as comfortable winners. However, I do believe the players gained necessary experience to learn from the tournament, especially in the final and help them in their education of the game that we love. It was a very enjoyable day although ultimately ending in disappointment.

It was the third match day for the 2006 players. With many players unavailable this weekend Mireia was the new signing for the A team making it 5 and 5 outfield players for both groups. After a sleepy start for both sides the two Buda Juniors teams lined up against each other in the second group game. If you had never seen a goalkeeper being punished for leaving his goal and then scoring one himself on the other end, then this was the match to watch. And who else would be able to pull that off that sensation if not Oriol...:) Team A did not manage to finish on a high but Balázs, Dani, Guillermo, Lennox, Mireia and Oriol have done their bit no doubt. Team B marched on and after a convincing 4-0 victory in the semifinal the guys played one of the highest tempo game this season against Esztergom. Miguel set up Tádé twice to seal the win. Besides the two gentlemen Aaron, Alex, Cole and Sean worked hard enough so that Team B tops the standings after 3 rounds.
