About us
Buda Juniors is an English-language, multi-national football club in Budapest, Hungary for children aged 4 to 19 years old. Run by Janos Banfi, a former Hungarian national team captain with 14 years experience of playing professional football and qualified with the UEFA coaching license, we play at Csilleberc in the Buda hills of the 12th district.

2009s
Our 2009 age group were the first to participate in the youth tournament held in Ercsi. 7 teams - mostly from Budapest - participated for the famous trophy! After a slightly nervous start the guys settled and both the level of football and the commitment were there. With Philipp being outstanding throughout the day and Anton dictating the play from the back, the team had a solid foundation based on the two Germans! Luca, Adam and Peter shared the duties in midfield while Bálint and Alisa did the work upfront. It was a team effort that showed in 3 wins 2 draws and 1 loss. When it looked like the guys are getting a bit tired a managerial masterstroke (it was actually the players’ idea:-) ) turned the events around: for the last game, Luca went in goal and Philip played upfront. Luca made some incredible saves while the energetic Philip got himself a hattrick in a 4-0 win. The guys finished 3rd and have been great ambassadors of Buda Juniors with their joyful but hard working attitude!

2005/6s
The 2005/6 age group were up next in the series of Ercsi tournament and after the younger group have made great impression we all expected something similar from the ’veterans’ as well. 2 totally different games but 2 draws to kick off the day: in the 1-1 game the boys got a bit complacent and let the win slip out of their hands despite the dominance, while in the 2-2 against Budafok things looked dark being 2-0 down only 5 minutes into the game. Nevertheless the guys responded and a great Tádé strike ignited a comeback that came from Martin’s last second equaliser. 2 narrow wins were to follow with the two most difficult games left to play. This was a Buda Juniors team that was not to break and in a high tempo match against Gloriett it was counter attacking masterclass that the guys have produced. Leo in goal was solid as ever, Luis and Mireia shared the defensive work, Martin, Dani and the returning Ádám ran the midfield while Tádé and the outstanding Guillermo upfront were great. All in all the guys were unlucky not to make it to the podium with losing only 1 in 6 games!
