About us
Buda Juniors is an English-language, multi-national football club in Budapest, Hungary for children aged 4 to 19 years old. Run by Janos Banfi, a former Hungarian national team captain with 14 years experience of playing professional football and qualified with the UEFA coaching license, we play at Csilleberc in the Buda hills of the 12th district.

Last year’s youngest age group our 2010s – by now veterans – have started their WC campaign with a matchday of mixed emotions. After a nervous start the guys have settled a bit and in part you could see flashes of the football they can produce. Coco, Leo, Kwinten and Huni all had a game in goal. The two Benis were vital in defence while Ramez’ and Milos’ attitude and eagerness was exemplery. The highlight of the matchday came in the last game. Against a good Pomáz team the boys have worked really hard and when Oscar collected Leo’s pass he bursted into the pocket of space on the right to fire into the far corner. Great goal indead! All in all it was a great experiance for the guys who – i am sure - will give us some magic moments along the Winter Cup 2018-2019!

Despite the loss, a great start. Plenty of work and effort by our little ones. We created numerous chances, but had to settle for a late consolation goal by a Huni wonder-strike. The second match was again intense. We were unlucky not to score more but another Huni wonder-strike stole all headlines. The third match was a classic! To a team we lost 0-9 last time, they really put in a fight. Extremely intense match will all players running their socks off. The 3-5 roughly reflects the reality of the match, where an Oscar brace and Huni once again making sure the leaders didn’t feel too comfortable. Fantastic performance! The final match was another great performance. The energy and defensive effort was very impressive. No goals this time in a 0-2 defeat, but they walked off the pitch with their heads held high and rightfully so.

A great start to the day with an exemplary defensive performance and great goals from Huni and Oscar! Both lineups (4 and 4) performed brilliantly. They left it all on the field and played through the nerves for an early 2-0 win.
The second match saw a tough opponent put us to the test. Under constant pressure our defence suffered but held together to their brilliant teamwork. Evan secured the share of the spoils (1-1) with a great solo run leading the quick counterattack.
The third match was a goal fest! 3-6 loss but what goals. In the end they had a bit more firepower yet the highlight goes to Oscar’s team goal. Fantastic passing for him to bury it in the top corner. Huni with a brace was always menacing going forward as well as always helping out in defence. One of Huni’s goals came from a great ball by Evan that showed great awareness.
A thrilling game to end the tournament. 1-2 was the final result but they showed great fight. Always looking play and look for the missing goal. In the end, a fantastic group to manage. Sign me up for next year!
